With its compact size (50x60x15 cm), String Pocket is the smallest version of String and comes in a kit containing two panels and three shelves. This small version is just as flexible as the original and can also be extended vertically and horizontally. Doubling the number of panels more than doubles the possible number of sections, three instead of two. String Pocket is available in various colours: walnut/white, walnut/black, ash/white, oak/white, white, black, grey, pink, blue, green as well as white/plex and black/plex.
The String shelf was designed by Nils Strinning in 1949 and is regarded as a classic of Scandinavian design. Its sleek, timeless design language remains impressive even today. The minimalistic design concept calls for ladder-like side panels to support the shelves. The attractive wire frame makes the shelf an eye-catcher. String is designed such that it can be assembled according to individual wishes and is thus suitable for every kind of space. String Furniture was founded in 2005 by Peter Erlandsson and Pär Josefsson with the aim of reviving the cultural heritage left behind by Nils Strinning with his String design. Strinning created a simple and timeless shelf that allows a variety of applications. Strinning’s sense of proportions and details as well as his demand to connect functionality and aesthetics remain visible in String.
